After Cristiano Ronaldo’s departure from Manchester United, Chelsea icon Frank Leboeuf has cautioned the club, which is now managed by Todd Boehly, not to recruit the striker. Ronaldo was formerly with Manchester United.

Leboeuf has said that he does not want Cristiano Ronaldo to leave Manchester United and play for Chelsea at Stamford Bridge.

You may recall that on Tuesday, Man United exercised their right to immediately terminate Ronaldo’s contract.

Ronaldo, whose play in the past had piqued the curiosity of Chelsea, is now a free agent and has the option of signing with any club of his choosing.

Do you know, last summer, I thought Chelsea had a chance to have him,” Leboeuf told ESPN FC.

I thought because of the season he had last season, it would have been a good idea because Chelsea had something [lacking] in their front line”

“But this season, with the season he is having, I don’t really want to see him.”

When Leboeuf was asked why he did not want Chelsea to sign Ronaldo during the transfer window in January, he added the following:

“You have to change your game plan because of the attention you have to give to Ronaldo. When he is on the field, you have to play for him, we have talked about that many times.”
